As most avid book fans will already be aware, it is very popular these days to adapt novels to screen. Given that there are about a trillion streaming services now, there are ever more opportunities for a beloved work of fiction to find itself turned into a live action movie or series. Given this fact, I’m adding a new series (really lame joke definitely intended) to my Library. Read Before Watching, wherein I will review and recommend books that you should read before watching their on-screen counterparts. Or if you prefer you can read them after watching or instead of watching, that is up to you.
It is my hope I will be able to accomplish publishing such reviews before their adaptations are released on screen. However, there will be retroactive reviews for individuals, like myself, who are generally months behind on what’s new, or who like to read the book after or instead of watching.
Disclaimer: As always, the books I discuss will be Clean Reads only. So you may not find every book that has an upcoming movie or show based upon it reviewed here, this is no aspersion. I also will not be vouching for the content of said shows or movies, only for the content of the books.
So, keep an eye out this week for my first Read Before Watching, Stargirl, which will soon be coming as a movie to Disney+.
