I’m a twenty something introverted nerd who absolutely loves a good book and a great cup of coffee or tea. I love music and movies and basically anything that involves little social pressure. I also love to experiment with baking and trying new ways to make old classics. I’m partial to a “clean read” i.e. a book with little to no content that could be considered explicit and “dirty desserts” i.e. desserts or other delicious foods and drinks that don’t have to be pretty (or expensive) to be delightful.

We couldn’t agree more, Miss Dickinson. Here in the library we believe in the power of books. They take us all kinds of places, places we’ve never been and even places that don’t exist. That being the case, we also think its important that books don’t take us places we’d be embarrassed to take our Grandmothers. Since there seems to be no official system for the ratings of books, we’ve come up with our own. On this site every book we review or recommend will come with a rating, using the system borrowed from the MPAA. You’ll never find a book with a rating more severe than PG-13. You can expect each book to contain content similar to what would be in a movie of the same rating. Each review will include a brief, spoiler free breakdown of pertinent content, so you can choose what’s right for you. Also, books will be rated 0-5 on a likability scale; 0 being ‘I liked it so little, I couldn’t finish it’ (or I wish I hadn’t finished it) 1 ‘I didn’t really like it, but I finished it’, 2 ‘it was okay’, 3 ‘I liked it!’, 4 ‘I really, really liked it!’ and 5 ‘Love! It’s one of the best books I’ve ever read!’. For the most part, all the books reviewed here will be books we like/love. We encourage positivity in the Library.
